Financial Technology (FinTech) has become more popular recently as firms start using technology to introduce new products to enhance their competitiveness in the delivery of financial services. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority recently began to grant virtual banking licenses to several giant technology enterprises. Dr Wong Kin Ming, lecturer from the Department of Economics, HKBU, talks about this new financial and credit model and how it differs from the traditional banking services.
