21 Jan 2020
Around 130 secondary school principals and teachers joined the 18th HKBU Secondary School Principals’ Day on 15 January 2020. Under the theme of “Building an Oasis in Education”, they exchanged views and shared their experiences of restoring trust and instilling aspiration in the younger generation.
Professor Roland Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, delivered his welcoming remarks at the event, and he was followed by Mr John Tsang Chun-wah, Founder of Esperanza, who gave the keynote speech. Mr Tsang also participated in the panel discussion with Professor Vicky Tam, Associate Head of HKBU’s Department of Education Studies, and Mr Matthew D Seaward, a student from HKBU’s BBA (Hons) in Marketing programme. Ms Cindy Chan, Director of the Centre for Innovative Service-Learning at HKBU, was the facilitator of the session.
Secondary school principals and teachers also attended parallel seminars offered by faculties and offices. They also took the opportunity to tour the Academy of Visual Arts, the School of Chinese Medicine, the School of Communication, the Office of Student Affairs, and the Centre for Innovative Service-Learning at HKBU.
