Quality inventions developed by HKBU scholars were showcased at the InnoCarnival 2018 from 3 to 11 November. The event was organised by the Innovation and Technology Commission and was held at the Hong Kong Science Park.

All inventions exhibited had been awarded gold medals at the 46th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, including “Lip-password: Double Security System for Identity Authentication”, “Medical Devices for Stem Cell Therapy”, “Chinese Medicine Treat Irritable Bowel Syndrome Diseases”, and “Lead Detecting Device for Water”.

The HKBU booth was coordinated by the School of Chinese Medicine (SCM) and the Knowledge Transfer Office, and was sponsored by Beijing Tong Ren Tang Chinese Medicine Company Limited. During the event, SCM also garnered attention for its healthcare work through a number of interactive edutainment activities such as a virtual reality game on acupoint-massage, a Tai Chi somatosensory game, and the “Embrace Health” website and mobile app. SCM’s Chinese medicine practitioners also gave talks on ways to prevent and treat illnesses.
