The Office of Student Affairs held a dinner on 15 March to express the University’s gratitude to donors for their continued support of the First-Generation University Student Fund.

Professor Roland Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, and Dr Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) and Chairman of the Fund’s Steering Committee, were joined at the dinner by over 50 donors and Fund recipients.

Since its implementation in 2017, the Fund has awarded grants to 600 first-generation local undergraduate students, enabling them to expand their participation in outside-of-classroom activities such as overseas exchanges, internships, and study and service programmes. Over the past two years, alumni and supporters have generously contributed nearly HK$2 million in donations.
