The College of International Education organised the first Global Youth Forum recently to provide youth with a platform to explore their differences, share their similarities, and find a common understanding through their diverse cultural backgrounds.

The Forum brought together around 100 educators and students from across the globe to engage in stimulating discussions with local educators and students on the topic of “Voice of the Future – Gen Z”.

Officiating guest Dr Choi Yuk-lin, Under Secretary for Education, HKSAR, said that education nowadays is not confined to classroom learning, educators should lead young talents into an era of globalisation and to enhance their understanding of different cultures and develop their global perspectives.

Delivering his keynote speech, HKBU Provost Professor Clayton MacKenzie highlighted the importance of being a global citizen. He said the world has become so complicated that no one person in one place can solve the big problems, and diversity is the key.
