Honorary graduates inspire University community at distinguished lectures

Five HKBU honorary doctoral degree recipients, who received their awards this year, gave Distinguished Lectures and inspired members of the University and the public with their insights.

 

Professor Shi Yigong, a prominent structural biophysicist and Honorary Doctor of Sciences, shared his views on life and careers in a changing world, while Professor Michael Schudson, a world-leading journalism scholar and Honorary Doctor of Social Sciences, discussed why journalism still matters in the current world.

 

Dr Philip Chen, a distinguished business executive and Honorary Doctor of Business Administration, talked about his reflections on change and encouraged the young generation to dare to change. Dr Ko Wing-man, an eminent leader in public health services and Honorary Doctor of Social Sciences, looked back on his career journey and encouraged the younger generation to try their best to achieve their goals. Lastly, Dr Doreen Chan, a veteran banker and Honorary Doctor of Business Administration, spoke about the purpose of life as well as how to build a successful career.
