Three hundred student leaders joined the Student Organisations Leadership Conference cum Recognition Ceremony 2013 held by the Office of Student Affairs on 22 May.

At the conference, Mr. Alfred Cheung, renowned film director and HKBU alumnus, was invited to deliver a keynote speech on “The characteristics of 21st century leaders”. He led the students to think about their role and experience as leaders and encouraged them to equip themselves and develop their leadership potential.

Professor Albert Chan, President and Vice-Chancellor, shared with students HKBU’s “Vision 2020”. He also presented certificates to leaders of student organisations in recognition of their contributions to the University over the past year in organising extracurricular activities and social service.

The event was also an occasion to provide leadership training to this year’s incoming office-bearers of student organisations and to encourage them to contribute to the university and the community. Mr. Lionel Ma, Training Consultant of LMA Consultancy Services, conducted a leadership workshop on team building.

In addition, the Office of Student Affairs took the opportunity to consult student organisations on the future use of the Yeung Shui Sang Building as a student amenities building.
