Female students from different UGC-funded universities enjoyed a day-long “Girls Coding Day” at HKBU recently. The event was organised by the Apps Resource Centre, which is part of the University’s Department of Music. Coached by IT professionals, attendees learned how to use the Python programming language to create a web crawler.

The event aimed to address the issue of low female participation in the tech industry by offering coding education to female students, helping them to improve their confidence when it comes to coding.
