HKBU appoints Professor Guo Yike as Vice-President (Research and Development)

The Council of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) has approved the appointment of Professor Guo Yike (郭毅可教授) as Vice-President (Research and Development), with effect from 1 January 2020.


Professor Guo is currently Professor of Computing Science in the Department of Computing at Imperial College London, UK. He is also a pioneer in data science and has developed innovative technology for data analysis and machine learning. His recent work focuses on applying data science and data mining in the fields of life science, healthcare, environment science and design creativity.


As Vice-President (Research and Development) of HKBU, Professor Guo will lead the development of the University's overall research strategy, research infrastructure and postgraduate education. He will also promote the translation of research results into impactful contributions to the community and foster the establishment of global research partnerships.
