HKBU forum discusses impact of eLearning on next generation learners

The 8th eLearning Forum Asia organised by the University’s Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning took place last week (29-31 May). The forum attracted around 430 delegates from 159 local and overseas institutions of 13 countries. During the forum, the delegates were particularly interested in the measurement and assessment of student learning outcomes through technology.
Officiating at the forum were Dr. Chan Ka-ki, Deputy Secretary for Education, Dr. Richard Armour, Secretary-General of the University Grants Committee, Professor Albert Chan, President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Franklin Luk, Vice-President (Academic), Dr. Jerry Yu, Chairman of the eLearning Forum Asia, and Dr. Eva Wong, Director of the Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning.
At the opening ceremony, Dr. Richard Armour delivered a presentation setting out the opportunities offered by the new four-year undergraduate curriculum and how eLearning could bring in innovation that would enhance teaching and learning.
In addition, Dr. Leevan Ling, Associate Head of Mathematics, Dr. Eva Wong, Director of the Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning, and seven renowned scholars were invited to deliver keynote and plenary presentations on various topics related to eLearning.
