HKBU holds naming ceremony for Dorothy Shen Wong News Studio

HKBU held a naming ceremony for the Dorothy Shen Wong News Studio on 22 April. The event recognised the recent generous donation of HK$50 million from Professor Raymond R Wong, a veteran journalist and recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Social Sciences from HKBU, for the establishment of the Dorothy Shen Wong Memorial Fund, which is designated for the strategic development of the University’s School of Communication.
The naming ceremony was officiated by Professor Wong together with Professor Alexander Wai Ping-kong, President and Vice-Chancellor, and Professor Huang Yu, Associate Vice-President (Mainland) and Dean of the School of Communication at HKBU.
The Dorothy Shen Wong News Studio is located on the seventh floor of the Lee Shau Kee Communication and Visual Arts Building. The state-of-the-art equipment in The Studio supports teaching and helps students learn about TV and radio news broadcasting. Besides in-class practice and broadcast-related assignments, students can use the Studio to produce and broadcast newscasts for the Broadcast News Network, a Chinese news channel.
