HKBU receives HK$2 million donation to support Chinese medicine research

The University recently received a generous donation of HK$2 million from Mr Lai Kin-hak and Mr Tang Fung of Capital Estate Limited, in support of the School of Chinese Medicine’s research project entitled “Combinational Drug Discovery from Chinese Medicines for the Treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis”.

In recognition of the donors’ generosity, a cheque presentation ceremony officiated by Mr Lai Kin-hak, Mr Tang Fung and Professor Roland Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, was held on 11 October 2017. Professor Chin expressed his deep gratitude for Mr Lai and Mr Tang’s ardent support towards the University.

Guests and HKBU representatives attending the ceremony included Dr Kennedy Wong,  Member of the Board of Governors of the HKBU Foundation; Professor Bian Zhaoxiang, Associate Vice-President (Chinese Medicine Development) and Director of Clinical Division of the School of Chinese Medicine; Professor Lyu Aiping, Dean of Chinese Medicine; and Mrs Lily Chan, Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation.
