New Head of European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao shares at HKBU

Mr Thomas Gnocchi, new Head of the European Union (EU) Office to Hong Kong and Macao, hosted a sharing session at HKBU on 25 November.
The event, jointly organised by HKBU’s Department of Government and International Studies and the EU Office to Hong Kong and Macao, attracted an audience of about 120 including HKBU academics and students, members of the public and overseas scholars who attended in person or through video conferencing. Mr Gnocchi and his colleagues were warmly received by HKBU representatives including Dr Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning), and Professor Alistair Cole, Head of the Department of Government and International Studies.
At the sharing session moderated by Dr Kenneth Chan, Associate Professor of the Department of Government and International Studies, Mr Gnocchi introduced the mission of the EU and its endeavours in dealing with global issues such as the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the challenge of climate change, as well as the development of the digital society. After his presentation, he exchanged ideas with participants on a variety of topics.
