The Lion Rock Poetry Reading 2016 was held on 12 March 2016 with the theme “Journey of Poetry Writing”. Over 100 participants attended, including students of secondary schools and tertiary institutions.

Recitals at the event this year were delivered by renowned local poets Dr Wong Leung-wo, Mr Chow Hon-fai, Ms Wu Yin-ching, Mr Yip Ying-kit, Dr Jacky Yuen, Mr Lau Wai-shing, Mr Tsai Yim-pui and Mr Chung Kwok-keung. A talk about poetry writing was also presented by Dr Wong Leung-wo, Associate Professor of the Department of Literature and Cultural Studies of The Hong Kong Institute of Education.

Organised by the Language Centre of the Faculty of Arts, the annual event aims to enhance public understanding of literature, encourage the younger generation to participate in creative writing and enrich the artistic and cultural landscape of Hong Kong.
