School of Chinese Medicine joins in organising International Conference of the Modernisation of Chinese Medicine and Health Products

The School of Chinese Medicine (SCM) participated in the organisation of the International Conference of the Modernisation of Chinese Medicine and Health Products, jointly held by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Modernised Chinese Medicine International Association Limited. Carrying the theme “Inheritance and Innovation-In Commemoration of the 500th Anniversary of the Birth of Li Shizhen”, the Conference was held on 16 and 17 August at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.  

 

Professor Zhao Zhongzhen, Associate Dean of the SCM, served as the Co-chairman of the Organising Committee of the Conference. He spoke at the keynote session on the topic “A Song for Achievements for Generations – Talk about the Influence of Li Shizhen, His Books and Contributions”.  

 

The conference brought together 17 renowned scholars and professionals from seven countries and regions to share their insights on the Ben Cao studies and their future development. Four sessions covered the themes “The World of Ben Cao”, “International Perspectives of Ben Cao”, “Development of Ben Cao”, and “Ben Cao R&D”.
