The University held a Naming Ceremony today (8 March) to name the multi-purpose hall on the 2/F of the newly built Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun Sports and Cultural Centre on the Shaw Campus the “Mr. and Mrs. Lau Chor Tak Multi-Purpose Hall” in recognition of the donors’ staunch support to HKBU.

The “Mr. and Mrs. Lau Chor Tak Multi-Purpose Hall”, with a floor area of 740m2, comprises a 384m2 multi-purpose hall and three activity rooms. It is suitable for holding large-scale conferences, banquets and events with a capacity of 350 persons. Renovations will be conducted in April to add seats and audio facilities.

It has an approximate floor area of 1,700 sq. ft. with a market value of over HK$20 million. Mr. Lau is currently an Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation.
