Distinguished Academy of Film alumni shine at Golden Horse Film Festival

Alumna Chu Hoi-ying, a 2014 graduate from HKBU’s Master of Fine Arts in Film, Television and Digital Media programme, won the award for Best Live Action Short Film at the 56th Golden Horse Awards with her film3 Generations 3 Days. The work has already garnered her the Fresh Wave Award and the Best Director Award at the 13th Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival in Hong Kong, and the Best Fiction Short Film award at the South Taiwan Film Festival.
Alumna Norris Wong, a 2012 graduate from the same programme, clinched the NETPAC Award, which was co-presented by the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival and the Network for the Promotion of Asia Pacific Cinema, for her debut film My Prince Edward. The film was also one of the winning entries in the Higher Education Institution Group at the 4th First Feature Film Initiative, and Norris received HK$3.25 million in funding from the Government’s Film Development Fund to support the production.
