A total of 18 HKBU undergraduate students have been awarded scholarships under the HSBC Scholarship Scheme this year for their outstanding academic performance and well-rounded development.

Among the awardees, Nicole Chui (English Language and Literature, Year 3) beat the competition to receive the HSBC Overseas Scholarship and a grant of HK$82,000. She will study at Linkoping University in Sweden for one semester.

Nicole said, “I am grateful for the study exchange opportunity. The raw materials of literature are history and social issues, so it is crucial to reflect on reality with knowledge from books. I am determined to explore different cultural values and observe the needs of our global society by travelling to the other side of the globe.”

In addition, HSBC launched its HSBC Greater Bay Area (Hong Kong) Scholarship this year to inspire Hong Kong’s next generation and get them ready for careers in the Greater Bay Area. Evelyne So (Public Relations and Advertising, Year 3) was the sole winner from HKBU, and she received a grant of HK$80,000. She said that the scholarship will help her pursue her interest in brand marketing and develop her future career plan.

The 16 other students received the HSBC Hong Kong Scholarship and HSBC Social Work Scholarship, respectively.
