Four HKBU inventions shine at Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions

The fruits of four research projects conducted by HKBU research teams shone at the 2021 Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, scoring four prizes including a Gold Medal with the Congratulations of Jury, two Gold Medals and a Silver Medal.

 

The four winning HKBU inventions are:

 

Gold Medal with the Congratulations of Jury

  • “Anti-scratch thin film coating on metal surface” by Professor Cheah Kok-wai, Chair Professor of the Department of Physics

Gold Medals

  • “Therapeutic inhibitor for Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-associated cancers with responsive optical imaging function” by Professor Gary Wong Ka-leung, Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry, and Dr Lung Hong Lok, Assistant Professor of the Department of Chemistry
  • “Quality control markers for use in herbs authentication” by Dr Simon Han Quanbin, Associate Professor of the Teaching and Research Division, School of Chinese Medicine

Silver Medal

  • “Portable body motion analyser for elderly fall risk assessment” by Professor Jeffrey Cheung, Adjunct Professor of the Department of Physics
