19 Apr 2018
HKBU men’s basketball team has again clinched the first runner-up spot in an intervarsity competition. The teammates will continue to devote themselves to training with an aim to win the title of champion next year.
Captain of the team Hui Huen-hang was content with the team’s performance. He remarked that team members displayed remarkable concentration and strong team spirit, and applied what they learned from their special training in Taiwan in the competition.
He suggested that it was a glorious defeat as many members of the opposing team come from Hong Kong basketball first division teams with better playing skills and more comprehensive experience.
Huen-hang is optimistic about the team’s future development as most team members are year one or two students with promising potential. The team will start a new training season in the summer which will focus on personal development, in areas such as stamina and playing skill. After the recruitment of new members, they will focus on team training, such as competition tactics especially under challenging environments, with a goal to clinch the championship next year.
