HKBU men’s squash team claimed the first runner-up title, a historic result, in the intercollegiate competition organised by the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong.

The team, which includes Luk Long-hei (Physical Education and Recreation Management, Year 5), Luen Tsz-yu (Physical Education and Recreation Management, Year 2), Chan Shui-lun (Higher Diploma, Year 2) and Ma Tsz-lok (Associate Degree, Year 1) beat the Education University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the University of Hong Kong with high morale.

Miss Hon Sze-sze, Lecturer of the Department of Physical Education, said that comparing with last year, HKBU team members possess more advanced sports skills. Although the events were held during Chinese New Year, the coach, Mr Chan Siu-sing, insisted on increasing the number of training sessions which boosted team members’ strength.
