HKBU presents Long Service Awards and Professor Emeritus titles at Founders’ Day Thanksgiving Service

HKBU held its 64th Anniversary Founders’ Day Thanksgiving Service on 17 June 2020 with Dr Eddie Ho, former Council Member of HKBU, as the guest speaker.
At the Service, President Roland Chin showed his appreciation to 209 Long Service Award recipients and thanked them for their dedicated service to the University over the years.
This year, a total of 121 colleagues received awards for their 10 or 15 years of service. Awards for 20, 25 and 30 years of services were presented to 21, 46 and 19 colleagues respectively. Two colleagues were honoured for their loyal 35 years of service to the University.
President Chin also conferred the title of Professor Emeritus to eight HKBU scholars in recognition of their distinguished contributions to the University, including (by Department/Office):
Government and International Studies: Professor Chen Feng
Government and International Studies: Professor Hans Werner Hess
Government and International Studies: Professor Ting Wai
Department of Journalism: Professor Colin Sparks
Department of Management: Professor Randy Chiu
Department of Religion and Philosophy: Professor Lo Ping-cheung
Department of Social Work: Professor Chan Kai-fong
Department of Translation, Interpreting and Intercultural Studies: Professor Douglas Robinson
