Dr George Mak, Assistant Professor of the Department of Religion and Philosophy at HKBU, has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (RHS) in recognition of his excellent contribution to the advancement of historical research. 

Speaking about the fellowship, Dr Mak said he was excited and honoured to receive such recognition from history research professionals worldwide. At HKBU, Dr Mak’s research focuses on bible translation history, the history of Christianity in China, religious publishing and print culture in modern China, and sino-foreign cultural relations.

The RHS was founded in 1868, and it is the foremost society in the UK working with professional historians. It follows strictly regulated election procedures and requirements and only awards fellowships to those who have made “an original contribution to historical scholarship”.
