The HKBU Rowing Team clinched the overall male championship, the overall women’s second runner-up title and the overall second runner-up title in the 13th Hong Kong Universities Indoor Rowing Championships held recently at seven local universities.

 

The HKBU team swept five gold medals in the men’s contest. In the women’s  contest, the team won one gold, three silver and three bronze medals. The outstanding performance of the HKBU athletes also won them the overall second runner-up title in the championships.

 

The team was very excited about their performance. Team leader Yuen Yun-lam (Associate Degree, Year 1) said: “It is our honour to compete with such good athletes from other participating universities. We will devote ourselves to our further training and hope to gain even better results in the forthcoming contests.”

 

The championships are held with seven rounds of competition, one at each participating university, with the final results determined by the all-round individual performances.
