HKBU men’s football team was crowned winner of the Tin Ka Ping Sport Spirit Cup.

The team usually takes part in the 11-a-side football competition. As this was the first time they joined the futsal competition and some of the team members are new, the Captains and Sport and Recreation Leadership Year 4 students Nicolas Ho and Bosco Leung were pleasantly surprised with the result. They said the team did not only build a strong team spirt in a short period of time but were also crowned Cup champion.

Bosco also remarked how the competition schedule was very tight and the competitors have high level skills and stamina. The HKBU team had to devote their every effort into each event. In the preliminaries, HKBU lost to Vocational Training Council team, one of the strongest opponents, by only one point. They faced them again in the final round, but this time HKBU managed to keep the score equal, at four to four. With team spirit and iron will, they eventually won the Cup by technical points.

Regarding future development, Bosco hopes the team can continue to work hard and defend the title next year. He also hopes the team can break into the top four in the up-coming intercollegiate 11-a-side football competition.
